When you connect your IDE to HeroMate via the remote (cloud) MCP server , your AI agent gets access to 40+ tools (41 today) to build and manage your entire backend. You don't call these tools directly — just describe what you want in natural language.
Cloud vs local
This page lists the remote (cloud) MCP tools used for in-IDE editing. The local package @dypai-ai/mcp exposes a different default set (28 tools) focused on filesystem-aware deploy. See the local package guide .
Parameter Type Description create_endpointToolCreate a new REST endpoint with workflow logic (nodes + edges) update_endpointToolFull rewrite of an endpoint's workflow, name, method, or settings delete_endpointToolDelete an endpoint permanently search_endpointsToolList and search endpoints by name, type, method. Pass endpoint_id for full detail manage_endpoint_groupsToolOrganize endpoints into groups
Edit existing workflows without rewriting the entire endpoint:
Parameter Type Description edit_workflowToolFind-and-replace on the workflow JSON. Best for quick fixes — SQL queries, parameters, strings add_nodeToolAdd a new node to a workflow and connect it after an existing node remove_nodeToolRemove a node and auto-reconnect surrounding nodes
Every workflow edit is automatically versioned. You can view history and rollback:
Parameter Type Description get_endpoint_versionsToolList version history with timestamps. Filter by date with since/before rollback_endpointToolRestore a previous version of the workflow
Discover what the workflow engine can do before building:
Parameter Type Description list_node_catalogToolBrowse available node types (triggers, integrations, AI, logic, etc.) list_capability_catalogToolList higher-level capabilities the engine supports
Parameter Type Description execute_sqlToolRun SQL queries — CREATE TABLE, SELECT, INSERT, ALTER, etc. Auto-limited to 20 rows execute_scriptToolRun a multi-statement SQL script apply_migrationToolApply a named, tracked schema migration (create/alter tables, add foreign keys) get_app_tablesToolList all tables with column counts
Parameter Type Description manage_usersToolCreate, list, update roles, or delete users manage_rolesToolCreate, update, or delete custom roles app_settingsToolGet or update auth settings (autoconfirm, OAuth providers, JWT expiry)
Parameter Type Description manage_storageToolUpload, list, move, or delete files in a bucket list_bucketsToolList, create, or delete storage buckets
Parameter Type Description get_app_credentialsToolList configured credentials (Stripe, Resend, Telegram, etc.)
Schedules and inbound webhooks:
Parameter Type Description manage_schedulesToolCreate, pause, resume, or delete scheduled (cron) runs manage_webhooksToolCreate and manage inbound webhook triggers
Parameter Type Description test_workflowToolExecute a workflow in debug mode. Use stop_at_node to test individual nodes manage_draftsToolWork on a draft of a workflow before publishing it sync_realtime_policiesToolSync realtime channel access policies
Parameter Type Description dypai_traceToolTrace a single workflow execution step by step to debug failures search_logsToolSearch execution and application logs get_recent_workflow_activityToolView recent execution activity across endpoints
Parameter Type Description list_projectsToolList the projects you have access to get_projectToolGet details for a single project create_projectToolCreate a new project manage_projectToolUpdate project settings or lifecycle
Parameter Type Description list_ai_modelsToolList the AI models available to your plan (HeroMate Managed catalog) generate_image_assetToolGenerate an image (managed, billed as AI Credits) and save it to storage, returning a URL
Parameter Type Description manage_paymentsToolConfigure and inspect payment setup for the project
Parameter Type Description search_docsToolSearch HeroMate documentation by semantic similarity search_flow_templatesToolFind workflow templates for common backend patterns search_project_artifactsToolSearch project artifacts (generated files, blueprints, briefs) fetch_project_artifactToolFetch the full content of a specific project artifact
Instead of calling tools directly, just ask:
What you want What to say Create a table "Create a users table with email, name, and created_at" Build an endpoint "Create a POST /orders endpoint that saves to the database" Edit a query "Change the list_users endpoint to filter by active = true" Add a notification "Add a Resend email node after the order is saved" Apply a migration "Add a foreign key from orders.user_id to users.id" Check history "Show me the version history of the checkout endpoint" Undo a change "Rollback the checkout endpoint to the previous version" Schedule a job "Run the cleanup endpoint every night at 3am" Debug a run "Trace the last failed run of the checkout endpoint" Generate an image "Generate a hero image for the homepage and store it"
